Spectre
2016
Spectre is a series of photographs that uses the process of a mushroom releasing
its spores to pry at an inaccessible architecture.
The spores drop from between the gills on the underside of the mushroom cap and disperse to spawn new mushrooms.
It is an accumulation of microscopic white spores on black paper that creates these ghost like images,
but rather than being solely an after-image of life, they are also a precursor.
Automatic Accumulation
2016
Automatic Accumulation is a collection of actual spore prints presented as microscopic topographies.
Like with automatic drawings, I have set up the circumstances necessary for their production but do not have control of the patterns created.
